I moved into Waterford with my husband Robin in 1995 when he became the local rural policeman. He continued serving the local community for several years, and is now a police dog handler.
I work for a large medical company as an ultrasound sales specialist, and have done so for about 10 years. I sell ultrasound machines to both NHS and private hospitals and have to keep up with the technology, which changes all the time.
My husband and I have two daughters Hannah, 13, who goes to Presdales School in Ware, and Lucinda, 9, who attends Stapleford Primary School. Next year she will hopefully be traveling to Ware with her sister on the school bus.
I love my garden in which I grow our own vegetables. I can spend hours pottering about in my greenhouse.
We have 6 dogs all of different breeds; most live outside, but our Miniature Schnauzer who is just 8 months old lives inside with us.
As an East Herts Councillor I will do my best to:
Stop Speeding
I want to see proper speed restrictions in place on the A119 through Waterford and Stapleford. I want to see speed cameras either police-held or static, and public crossings to school bus stops along this road. I estimate one third of cars speed along this road where the pavement is in places very narrow.
Protect the Environment
I will voice your concerns on the proposed extension of the Rickneys Quarry and the effect it will have on the day to day lives of the people who live nearby. I want to make sure there is proper consideration of the potential problems of:
- increased HGV traffic on surrounding roads, including the B158
- the impact this will have on the environment and wildlife with the extraction of the gravel
- and the pollution that comes hand in hand with it
Improve the Quality of your Life
I like to help, and I feel that not everyone knows what they are entitled to enjoy from our public facilities. If you are in your senior years, or if you are young, I want to help you explore new opportunities, and I want to help create new possibilities for our community.
