I was born in Kent, and moved to Hertford with my husband, Jim,
following six years in Bahrain. I am the mother of three grown up children who no longer live at home.
I trained as a nurse, but retired from the NHS eighteen months ago after running an Elderly Care Ward at Western House, in Ware. I now work as a Bank Nurse at St Clare’s Hospice in Harlow, and have started a Bed & Breakfast business in our home.
I have just completed a three year term as Church Warden at St Andrew’s Church, the parish Church of Sele. I have always been interested in being involved in the Community, and believe that local
politics should be about serving the people and endeavouring if possible to meet their needs.
I used to run a Luncheon Club and visit elderly people in Central London, and have recently helped set up a Luncheon Club in the new Community Centre at Sele.
I would very much like the opportunity to serve you as an Independent Councillor on East Herts Council.
I want to work for:
Better Community:
loneliness is one of the major problems
in society, and I want to do what I can
to bring people together and to build
good relationships
Tight Control of Council Expenditure:
I do not want to see families and pensioners struggling to pay higher and higher Council taxes
More facilities for our young people:
In particular, I want to see a good sized skatepark built in Hertford
Freedom from fear:
I do not want people to be afraid to go out of their homes, or afraid to go to Hertford Town Centre for an evening out
